Franciscan Apprentice coordinates
40 Days for Life campaign in Hartford archdiocese

MERIDEN, CT (10-20-2010) Franciscan Apprentice, Mrs. Mary Lou Peters, of Windsor, Connecticut, Assistant Coordinator for the Pro-Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford has organized, directed and is personally participating in the now international 40 Days for Life campaign. She has gathered a team of volunteers throughout the archdiocese to promote the campaign in parishes and daily joins the volunteers who are praying near the Hartford GYN Center, an abortion clinic in Hartford.

The 40 Days for Life campaign promotes the culture of life through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil, by taking a stand against abortion and its harmful consequences. This is the third year in which the Archdiocese of Hartford has participated in this campaign. Mary Lou has coordinated 40 days of 24 hours of Eucharistic Adoration in parishes and 40 days of prayerful vigils at an abortion clinic in Hartford. Other denominations have joined in the prayer vigil as well.

Since the 40 Days for Life campaign first started in 2007 over 3,100 children have been saved from abortion, thousands of men and women have been spared from the effects of abortion, 8 abortion workers have quit their jobs and seven abortion facilities have shut down. You may visit the 40 Days for Life web site for more information about this prayerful campaign to end abortion.
