MERIDEN, CT (10-14-2011) - Twenty men and women began a Franciscan Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi with a Mass on October 14th with the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist and Father Christopher Tiano, celebrant and chaplain for the pilgrimage. The group includes several employees of Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, Franciscan Apprentices, friends and relatives of the Franciscan Sisters.
The pilgrims hoped to deepen their faith as they visited the holy places in Rome and learn more about Franciscan spirituality in Assisi, the hometown of St. Francis. The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in Italy planned many new experiences for the group. Excitement was the mood of the day as they boarded a bus for the airport.
