Sister Faith Marie Woolsey professes first vows;
Sister Grace Marie Horan renews vows

Sister Faith Marie WoolseyMERIDEN, CT (08-10-2014) - In a double vow ceremony during the Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, August 10, 2014, two Sisters took the next steps in their formation process.

Sister Faith Marie Woolsey professed first vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. In her letter of request for vows, Sister Faith Marie expressed the positive growth she has experienced during her years of novitiate, and her desire to be committed to the Community with her whole heart. Mother Shaun Vergauwen, Mother General, responded to Sister's request by simply stating, "It is clear to me that you really 'get it.'" Sister Faith Marie is the daughter of Michael and Ellen Woolsey of Jackson, Michigan. She received a doctorate in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University and serves as a physical therapist at the Bradley Home in Meriden.

As is customary, Sister Faith Marie Woolsey, FSE received a blessing from Mother Shaun Vergauwen, FSE, Mother General, after her profession of vows.

 

Sister Grace Marie HoranSister Grace Marie Horan renewed vows for three years. She is a teacher at East Catholic High School, Manchester, Connecticut. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Dallas and a Master's degree in Dogmatic Theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. Addressing Sister Grace Marie during the vow ceremony, Mother Shaun commended Sister for her diligence and faithfulness in carrying out whatever is assigned to her. Her keen sense of humor has become a hallmark of her spirit in the house of formation. Sister Grace Marie grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, the eleventh of twelve children.

The Reverend Jeffrey Romans, Pastor of St. Bridget Church, Cheshire, was the celebrant of the Mass and bestowed on the Sisters the blessing of the Church as part of the ceremony. The Sisters, in turn, received blessings from Mother Miriam Seiferman, Vicar General, and from Mother Rosemae Pender, Mother Foundress. All the professed Sisters present renewed their vows together.
