Sister Catherine Mary Clarke celebrates 25th jubilee

MERIDEN, CT (09-14-2014) - Sister Catherine Mary Clarke, FSE renewed her vows at a Mass of Jubilee celebrating the 25th anniversary of her first vows. The Mass was held at Holy Angels Church, South Meriden, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.

The Reverend Anthony Giampietro, C.S.B., principal celebrant and homilist, spoke in his homily of Sister Catherine Mary as an example of John's words in the Gospel for the feast, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him." Father Giampietro emphasized Sister's gift of never condemning anyone, but accepting persons where they are and as they are, respecting their dignity and co-suffering compassionately with their struggles. Mother Shaun Vergauwen, Mother General, reiterated a similar message as she received Sister Catherine Mary's renewal of vows. Sister Catherine Mary is a social worker for Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, Meriden.
