Sister Damien Marie Savino presents keynote
at Archdiocese of Hartford conference

Sr Damien MarieBLOOMFIELD, CT (06-11-2016) - Sister Damien Marie Savino, FSE, Ph.D. presented the keynote address for the Office of Catholic Social Justice Ministry's Bishop Peter Rosazza Conference held at St. Thomas Seminary, June 11th. The Conference kicks off a week celebrating the one-year anniversary of Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato si'. Highlighting the Conference theme, Rooted in Faith - Caring for Our Common Home, Sister Damien Marie's topic focused on "Heeding the 'Cry of the Earth and the Cry of the Poor.'" Sister Damien Marie also presented a workshop on "Waste: Decluttering and Our Ecological Conversion" as part of the Conference.

Sister Damien Marie has served as the Chair of the Department of Environmental Science and Studies with a joint appointment in Theology at the University of St. Thomas, Houston. She will be taking up a new role of Dean of Science and Sustainability at Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, in July.
