Franciscans celebrate Holy Week

MERIDEN, CT (04-05-2010) – Holy Week is always a very special time for the Franciscan Sisters and Brothers of the Eucharist. Each day's liturgy is celebrated in as full a way as possible with emphasis on the unique mystery of the day as we follow Christ's passion, death and resurrection. The Community sets aside time during the week for extensive preparations, prayer and community experiences to underline the central focus of the Church's liturgy of each day.

Holy Week has become, over the years, a most enriching and spiritually nourishing time not only for the Franciscan Sisters and Brothers, but also for the many Franciscan Apprentices, Poverellos and other lay people who share in the liturgies of the week.

The Franciscan Community wishes all a very happy Easter Season!
