Mother Colleen KimbroMultimedia center dedicated
to Mother Colleen Kimbro

CLOQUET, MN (11-20-2010) - Mother Colleen Kimbro, FSE, former principal of Queen of Peace School from 1977 to 2001, was remembered fondly at a ceremony of dedication at the school on November 15, 2010. A new multimedia center named the Mother Colleen Media Center was dedicated in her memory. The media center was part of a renovation project undertaken in 2009 when the school's structural beams were found to be worn and unsafe. During the construction, classes were held in the lower level of the church hall.

Mother Colleen died on May 6, 2009, after serving in the Diocese of Duluth for 32 years. She was known throughout the Duluth-Cloquet area for her dedication to education. A plaque in the media center expresses her oft-quoted belief in Catholic education: "Catholic education takes children where they are and as they are, leading them to Jesus." Parents, students and staff joined Reverend Rick Banker, Pastor, in the ritual of blessing the refurbished classrooms and the media center.
