Sister Mary Connors cuts ribbon at Azalea Trail event

HOUSTON, TX (03-08-2013) - Sister Mary Roberta Connors, FSE, helps support her Order through her work as a graphic designer. For many years she has worked with the River Oaks Garden Club in Houston, Texas, designing materials for the well-known springtime event in Houston, The Azalea Trail. She also illustrates the homes featured on The Trail. This year she was asked to cut the ribbon to open the 78th Annual Azalea Trail. In her opening remarks she spoke of St. Francis and his love of creation, explaining how all the beauty of creation reflects the hand of God. She thanked the Garden Club members for allowing her to do this work which so naturally ties into her call as a Franciscan Sister.

Below are examples of the illustrations Sister Mary Roberta created for the Azalea Trail event.
