Franciscans break ground for new chapel

MERIDEN, CT (07-13-2013) - Franciscan lay associates formed the outline of the soon-to-be built chapel during the ground breaking ceremony held on Saturday, July 13th in Meriden. A prayer service included a ceremonial turning of the soil and a blessing on all who will be involved in the building project.

Representatives of Sullivan Brothers, General Contractor, and Don Hammerberg Architects join Mother Shaun Vergauwen, Mother General, and FSE General Council members, the Very Reverend Douglas Mosey, and Kelleanna Rzegocki at the ground breaking ceremony. Kelleanna Rzegocki represented the Franciscan Apprentices, members of the lay faithful dedicated to Franciscan spirituality.
