Next phase of CYMA software training underway
for Cameroon Sisters
ROME, ITALY (06-06-2014) - CYMA Systems of Tempe, Arizona, and the Franciscan Common Venture sponsored training for a group of Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis in Rome from May 12-25, 2014 at the Generalate of the Tertiary Sisters. Sisters from hospitals in Cameroon participated to learn CYMA accounting software. The training was a follow up to the installation and training on CYMA software in Shisong, Cameroon in 2010 at the Provincial headquarters, St. Elizabeth Hospital and the Cardiac Centre. The goal of the project is to provide a solid, common base of accounting software in the hospitals operated by the Sisters in Cameroon.
The same three professionals who had worked with the Sisters in Cameroon in 2010 provided hands-on instruction. Mr. Brent Littlefield of CYMA, Joyce Alpaugh, CPA of Los Angeles and Sister Kieran Foley, FSE of Meriden, Connecticut teamed up to share their knowledge with the Sisters who in turn, eagerly responded.
The Generalate house in Rome which offers accommodations for pilgrims and visitors to Rome provided a setting conducive to learning. "Mother Maria Theresia and all the Sisters of the house welcomed us warmly and attended to our every need," Sister Kieran commented for the group. The Sisters in charge of accounting will be using the new software in Shisong, Njinikom and Bafut health centers. Joyce Alpaugh accompanied the Sisters back to Cameroon where she is providing on-site support for them during the next two months.
The Franciscan Common Venture is a collaborative effort of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, La Crosse, Wisconsin, and the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis, Wisconsin and the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis.
