Our Eucharistic Call celebrated in the solemnity of Corpus Christi

MERIDEN, CT (06-22-2014) - The solemnity of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) is a special feast for the Franciscan Sisters and Brothers of the Eucharist as the Church celebrates Christ's self-gift of his Body and Blood in the sacrament of the Eucharist. The centers of the Community mark this day with a festive Mass and a procession to three altars with Benediction, a long-standing tradition of the Catholic faithful. Walking and singing together in procession on the land and being blessed by the Eucharistic Presence of Christ is an expression of honor for the most radical Gift of God, the Eucharist. This year's Mass at the Motherhouse was held in the Prayer Garden and the processional altars were placed in the cemetery, the Founders' Garden and the Rose Garden. The Very Reverend Douglas Mosey, CSB was the celebrant.
